What Is A Brow Lift?
Do you want to get rid of those deep wrinkles on your forehead and outer corner of your eyes while lifting the eyebrows at the same time to give you a more youthful look? Look Younger And Take Decades Off Your Face. Then a Brow Lift is what’s right for you.
Brow Lift/Forehead Lift is a popular and effective approach for elevating a forehead that has aged in such a way so that the eyebrows seem low, and even heavy. And forehead lines can appear deep, and weathered. This can create a tired, grim, or even unhappy look – not to mention “old”. In women, low eyebrows can give a more masculine look.
What Are The Physical Benefits of A Brow Lift or Forehead Lift?
A brow lift, also sometimes called a forehead lift, revitalizes the appearance of the face above the eyes. As you age, the skin on the forehead tends to droop and the skin in the corners of your eyes increases the appearance of the crow’s feet.
When this occurs, the brow sags and causes hooding of the upper eyelid, you may tend to unconsciously elevate your eyebrows, which causes both dynamic and static horizontal lines to appear on the forehead.
What Are The Benefits Of A Brow Lift Or Forehead Lift?
A brow lift removes excess sagging, skin and repositions the underlying tissues. A brow lift can correct age lines and restore a smoother, more youthful appearance.
Raising the eyebrows to a more natural appearing position can often refresh both the upperface – the forehead – and greatly enhance the appearance of the eyes. We commonly associate a higher eyebrow position with youth and a more feminine “look”. However, the goal is not to get the eyebrows unnaturally high – as to create a surprised look. This is the kind of result we want to avoid. A natural, non-surgical look is the goal.
By repositioning the brow to a more natural position, the eyes will appear larger, more vibrant, and less tired.
Having a brow lift can help correct issues such as:
- A drooping or heavy brow
- Sagging skin
- Deep forhead furrows and lines
- Crow’s feet
- Frown lines
If you are currently unhappy with your appearance due to one or more of the above issues, a brow lift may help to provide you with a brighter look that can often result in a boost of your self-confidence.
What Are The Types Of Brow Lift Or For Head Lift?
The following are two types of Brow Lift or Forehead Lift surgical approaches.
- Endoscopic Brow Lifts With Endotine: An endoscopic brow lift or commonly known as endobrow lift which is a less invasive technique. Rather than making a long, extended incision, your facial plastic surgery specialist will make several small incisions within the hairline for minimum visibility. Then, using a small telescopic camera and special surgical instruments, the entire forehead is mobilized while visualizing it on a monitor. This frees up the forehead, so that we may move the brow upwards without much tension. Also, in conjunction, the corrugator muscles are transected to smoothen any vertical lines between the eyebrows. To keep the brow in its new position, your surgeon will use a special device called ENDOTINE to fix the forehead tissue to the bone. This device dissolves on its own after several months so that there is no permanent foreign body beneath your skin. The new position of your brow is kept with reattachment of the entire undermined surface. The advantages of endoscopic brow lift are minimal scarring, minimal discomfort and a speedy recovery time.
- Open Brow Lift Surgery: An open brow lift may be necessary if you’re suffering from excessive brow ptosis with excess skin. This surgery is accomplished by making an incision across the top of your head just behind the headline. The incision will be camouflaged within your hair, but we will not likely need to shave any during your surgery.
Like the endoscopic method, the forehead soft tissue is elevated, but under direct vision. For people with frown lines, the corrugator muscle is transected as well. Your surgeon will excise any excess skin in order to address sagging of your brow. Using this technique, the forehead can be lengthened or shortened. Again, the final strength of the repositioned forehead is achieved by the attachment of the undermined surface to the new position using the ENDOTINE device. The advantage of this procedure is that maximum benefits can be obtained for patients with severe ptosis of the forehead and excess skin.
How Is A Brow Lift/Forehead Lift Surgery Done?
Brow Lift/Forehead Lift Surgery is done through several small incisions in the hear-bearing scalp, a special endoscope is introduced so that all the work is done underneath the tissue with “indirect vision” without needing to open up the area with a large incision.
The forehead tissue in loosened and elevated to result in the eyebrows being re-positioned to a more pleasing, higher place. Usually that’s within a quarter of an inch or so higher.
Sometimes the “brow lift” is done alone and often it is done along with a face “tuck”. It is really a decision that is largely “artistic” in nature.
What Is The Recovery Period For A Brow Lift/Forehead Lift?
The “downtime” is usually several days up to a week but you should be able out and about in a few days. The post operative pain and discomfort is minimal.
